When the opportunity came up for me to review “Everything is Alright” by Burning Bridget Cleary, I jumped right on it. This Philadelphia based act has been performing in and around the Lehigh Valley for quite some time, but I had only watched them perform a few times up until the time of this review. I figured it was time that I gave these “local” musicians an honest listen.

After receiving the album, I gave it a number of listens. The first time through I was pleasantly surprised. I was more impressed with every listen thereafter. While I largely migrate towards Celtic Rock and Punk, I found myself rather blown away by Burning Bridget Cleary.

“Everything is Alright” which is the second of 3 full-length albums, is an excellent mix of traditional, original and cover songs. The composition of this album is only surpassed by the abilities of the performers, who despite their youth are very accomplished musicians. Burning Bridget Cleary bring as much energy to this album as they do their live performances (minus the bad jokes ? ) and are not a band to be overlooked. Look for them at a number of festivals this Summer, most notably Celtic Fling in Manheim, PA, MusikFest in Bethlehem, PA and Irish 2000 in Albany, NY.
